This piece was inspired by my Chippewa culture. Plants, roots, bark and other things found in nature are used as medicine. Medicine within ceremonies and also medicine to treat illness.
A friend of mine honored me by naming this art piece and describes what the meaning is when she first saw this piece.
"...when I first saw this piece, I was sort of inspired as Ojibwe or even just myself...I draw inspiration from natural beings (plants & flowers)....We have four sacred medicines: tobacco, sage, cedar, sweetgrass....But also other medicinal plants."
This piece represents the wisdom and knowledge of those that have and still use plants and flowers for medicine to heal.
