Floral Cancer Ribbon 16x16

The meaning behind this piece is simply recognizing those breast cancer survivors that have beaten the cancer and who continue to share their strength and hope with the world by their example. The other meaning behind this piece is to recognize those that fought the fight but who were called to their heavenly Home. Their example is impressed upon their families and the world also. This piece is also to recognize the caregivers who fought right alongside their loved ones every step of the way.

My wife, Geri, fought breast cancer starting in 2014 all the way up until May 1, 2018 when she made her journey Home. Geri took her last breath in the evening of 5/1/2018 at 9:10. I knew the time was important so I wrote the time down on a piece of paper and taped it to my bathroom mirror. The significance of the time was not later revealed until months later. The significance of 9:10 is that it is the date of my birthday. The tenth day of the ninth month of the year, September 10th. When the realization of the time hit me I immediately broke down into tears. Not tears of sadness but of love. Geri could not respond or speak toward the end so I believe she found a different way to say goodbye and that she loved me.

May this art fill your homes and hearts with peace and joy.
